Fall 2010 dance competition

In fall of 2010 I entered into my first dance competition with my dance teacher Viviana from Big Birds Ballroom. It was the 2010 Annual Maple Leaf Classic, Dancesport event. Viviana and I worked hard to prepare for 9 entries. It was rather exciting to dance in such an event. It was nice to be rewarded for our efforts and climb the experience latter to become a better dancer.

It is usual to meet dance friends at such competitions. The dance community is a warm social family and I enjoy these meeting very much. The next competition will be a little more challenging — as I hope to compete at a Bronz level.

Getting to know Ben Tusim — the developer of the 2Some Events has been a lot of fun. Of course he communicates with many famous dancers for his shows. In April 2010 we enjoyed celebrating Ben Tusim’s wife Crystal’s birthday –in style. First we went to view the famous dancers from “Dancing with the Stars” — Pasha and Anya — on Stage at the Canon Theater in Toronto where they danced in the show”Burn the Floor”. Yes they did indeed burn the floor. After the show we met some of the dancers and joined them for supper at a local restaurant.

What a great day for Mary and I and all those who attended. Dancers are active people and it is nice to be among them.

2Some dance event

The last 2Some event was at the Old Mill Inn in Toronto. What a great time we had! Mary and I took a room at the Old Mill so that we could enjoy the festivities to their fullest. We invited our dance friends and family to the dinner and dance. Here is a picture of us in our hotel room prior to the show. The Old Mill is a very special place for us — as we were married there some 30 years ago.

After the amazing dance show by famous dance celebrities and the following dance party wMary and I were tgiven the opportunity to have our pictures taken with some of the Stars. We really had a super time and look forward to the upcoming 2011 event.
